The original owner of this property was Georgetown founder George Kennedy (1823). The property changed hands a number of times: Henry Grass (1846), John Freeman (1852), James Freeman (1858). The present building was built circa 1888 and housed T. Wheelers Jewellery Store in 1890. It was owned by Mr. Bergsma from the mid 1960s to the mid 1990s.
