The building on this site pre-dates 1875 and is considered a “Gothic Revival”. The past owners are George Kennedy and William Barber & Brothers (1844). This building housed the first office of the Georgetown branch of the Bank of Hamilton opened in 1875. The bank relocated in 1890 and the building became the home and office of Dr. C. V. Williams until he retired from practice in 1970. It has been home to a number of restaurants including the Ivy House Tea Room, Georgetown Thai and Malhotra’s.
