The Georgetown BIA is looking for interested people to work on committees such as Communications & Promotions, Beautification & Maintenance, Parking and Strategic Planning. Marilyn Willis

Marilyn holds degrees from three universities; York University Mount Saint Vincent University and the University of Toronto.  She has worked in education first as a teacher and then as a coordinator for 35 years. Marilyn then worked in the publishing field for 4 years and owned Silvercreek cafe for 4 years.  Currently she performs with the trio Georgetown Transfer for charity functions and seniors homes. 

Ted Flanagan

Ted Flanagan operates the Caldwell Financial Office at 67 Main St. S., Georgetown.  Caldwell is a full service stock brokerage company with its own investment management division and offers insurance solutions.  Ted is an investment advisor and insurance agent.  He has sat on the Downtown Georgetown BIA for a number of years and brings board experience from 2 other boards he has sat on including currently the Peel Mutual Insurance Company board of directors.  Currently he is the BIA board chair.  Ted welcomes conversations with anyone that may have input for the Downtown Georgetown BIA. 

Wendy Farrow-Reed, CHRP

Since Sept 2011 Wendy has been the BIA Manager for Downtown Georgetown. Wendy holds her Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation and a Certification in HR Management with more than 20 years of International and National HR experience. Wendy has solid roots in the community and is involved in many organizations, but finds her passion playing baseball/swimming and spending time as a Community Living volunteer.  

William Bonnett

BilI has been a member of the Georgetown BIA since 2002 and has always been involved in any community he lived in.  He was a Group Committee Chairman for Boy Scouts of Canada,  successfully run fundraisers for Brampton Figure Skating Club and coached rep hockey in Brampton and Toronto for 10 years.  For the past 5 years he has been a member of The Kinsmen Club of Georgetown. Bill has a long career  in buisness wholesaling (1977-2007) and have been a retailer since 2007.  Bill  brings a lot of  business  experience to  the Downtown Georgetown BIA.

Jane Fogal

Jane was first elected to Halton Hills Town Council in 1998 and was appointed to the BIA at that time. She served on the BIA board until 2010 and was reappointed in 2015. Jane brings to the table knowledge of municipal resources and processes. As an advocate for cycling and walking, Jane supports making Georgetown more bicycle and pedestrian friendly. She chairs the group that annually organizes Bike it to the Market and advocates for trail development. Jane is also a volunteer member of the Halton Hills Cultural Roundtable that promotes cultural activity in the downtown core.

Sandy Mackenzie

Sandy was born, raised, worked, constructed buildings, ran family owned businesses and made merry in Downtown Georgetown his whole life. Sandy has held a seat on Town Council and is past chair of the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce. If you ever played rugby in Georgetown then Sandy has coached you. Sandy has sat on and chaired many community committees and projects and has been on the BIA for many terms. Sandy is the BIA’s personal “in house expert” of all things Georgetown and especially Downtown Georgetown.
